Corrosion...What to do...

I've spoken about this before but I'm running in to this all the time. When you make the decision to use aluminum (thin material) fixtures you will likely experience corrosion sooner or later. There are aluminum products (aircraft grade) that are heavy duty, coated well and weather resistant; however, not all aluminum is alike.

So, chose your fixtures wisely - the first clue is the price. If it is inexpensive beyond belief it may not be of good quality. Spend a little more upfront and not have to concern yourself with replacements later. Brass and copper fixtures work well especially if you live near the ocean (salt water will enhance the corrosion process).

Quick tip.....
